The Principal

Michael Gord

Michael Gord has worked in digital assets since 2013. He was the first enterprise blockchain developer at TD Bank, founded Bitcoin Canada, and built the first university blockchain communities in the country. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.

He founded MLG Blockchain, an enterprise consulting and development firm serving corporations and governments, and led its merger with Secure Digital Markets to form GDA Capital — a merchant bank for disruptive technology that has been involved in more than twenty billion dollars of digital asset financings. He remains its co-founder and chief executive.

His record as a principal spans more than seventy portfolio companies, four of which he backed from seed to a valuation above one billion dollars, alongside three exits as a founder. Companies he co-founded include Metaverse Group, acquired by Tokens.com, and Acronym Asset Management, which manages digital asset strategies for institutions and families.

Gord Holdings consolidates this activity on a single permanent balance sheet. The mandate is unchanged from the first investment: own durable assets, operate them closely, and measure the result in decades.
