The mesh
The rails: identity, settlement, and the open standard organisations publish themselves against.
This is the vertical the thesis is about. Owning a layer that every participant must touch removes the need to pick which participant wins, and the mesh is the group’s attempt at four such layers at once — a directory organisations publish into, an identity layer that carries delegated authority across a boundary, a settlement record, and the specification tying them together.
It is also the vertical held to the strictest standard, because a standard its author does not follow is a product with a licence attached. Every property here publishes the charter, the handshake and the fragment the specification defines, and the parent was the last entity in the estate to conform.

The gate
Has origination through the standard itself: an organisation that adopts the format is a relationship the group did not pay a fee to originate.
A vertical earns its own Ventures arm when it has deal flow of its own, and a Capital arm when it has a balance sheet to allocate. Neither is granted at formation, and both are published on the roadmap so a partner can check whether the group applied its own rule.
